Prof. V T Srinivasan, founder member of the institution, initially nurtured the department of English for a long time apart from being a Mathematics Teacher. He was an envy for many English professors particularly when he used to teach English drama. The department of English was further nurtured by dedicated teachers like Prof. M K Keshava Swamy who also functioned as the Principal of the College. He was admired not only as a good teacher but also as an able administrator. He was an exemplary role model for students as well as administrators. Prof. B S Vedavathi, Prof. M S Krishna, Prof. M S Swarnalatha, Dr. V S Sridhar, Prof. N S Raghavan, Dr. Vijaya Ramesh, Prof. T K Sathyanarayana Murthy, Prof. H N Vathsala, and Dr. B S Jayashree actively nourished the department and have set examples as excellent and dedicated teachers. The English Language Laboratory is in existence in the college.

Presently, Prof. C T Vimala is heading the department.
