History of our unit

Our unit commenced as per The Bharath Scouts& Guides regulations from 20/10/2014 by Dr. KVN Lakshmi. Later, the unit was handed over on 15^th June 2017 to Prof. Krupasindhu MD, UG Commerce Department. Presently, Prof. Hemalatha M, Botany Department, is the Convenor of Rangers and Rovers and Rover Scout Leader, RSL. Manoj. S, an alumnus, is functioning to monitor and progress the objectives of the unit.

The list of activities coordinated inside the college by the unit include the following.

1. SWACH BHARATHINITIATIVE. Students helpin cleaning the places on either side of the college gate to mark a significance of cleanliness in our surroundings.
2. REPUBLIC DAY. Holdan exhibition of pioneering miniature gadgets hand made by our crew & companies which are built as life size during camping, disasters or natural calamities, etc.. The models such as swings, entrance gate, gate way, bridge, watch towers, meeting table, etc. are showcased. These are made by using sticks & threads.
3. INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY CELEBRATION. Held annually on 21^st Septemberin the college quadrangle whereatleast30 students (15 rangers + 15 rovers) make postersand decorated thecampus.
4. GO GREEN DRIVE. An environment-based event whichwas held on25^TH October 2018 in the college sports ground on account of Investiture and successful completion of 3years with unit members active participation during the unit tenure. It was also held on 17^th September 2019.
5. PAPER BAG MAKINGwas an interesting do it yourself activity carried on on23^rd April 2019 in the college. All participants learnt to make paper bags with an idea to recycle and to stop theuse of pl
6. DEBATE on the topics - “IS TECHNOLOGY MAKING US DUMB OR SMART?” – ROVERS “ISCOLLEGE DEGREE A MUST TO GET A JOB?” - RANGERS was held on 12^th September2019.
